Strange Stories: The Death Of Elisa Lam & The Infamous Cecil Hotel

Background

The Cecil Hotel

The Cecil Hotel or “Hotel Cecil” was originally opened in 1927 as a budget hotel in Los Angeles, California. In present day the Cecil Hotel is now called the Stay on Main. Unfortunately, the Cecil Hotel has a reputation for violence and suicides throughout it’s long history. In fact, Elizabeth Short (The Black Dahlia) stayed at the hotel shortly before being murdered. To date, her murder is still unsolved and her killer has never been identified.

The “Night Stalker” Richard Ramirez also stayed here during the time period of his killing spree. The Cecil Hotel has had a record number of horrible events. One time, a woman threw her newborn out one of the highest windows of the Hotel as well.

This area of downtown Los Angeles is often referred to as “Skid Row” by many people and is often an area visited by transients and the homeless. It is definitely understandable why someone would choose to sty at this Hotel as all the other hotels in the area are much more expensive, plus this area has lots of local shops and culture to explore.

The first recorded suicide at the Cecil happened in 1931, after a guest intentionally ingested poison capsules, which then resulted in their death (this actually happened a few times in the history of the hotel). Over the next several decades the Cecil Hotel continued to gain infamy as a notorious suicide spot and was the spot of several brutal murders. In one case someone jumped from the roof to commit suicide and actually fell on a pedestrian on the sidewalk below, killing both of them in the process. However, no case is as strange as that of the mysterious death of Elisa Lam.

Where In The World Is Bryce Laspisa?

Overview:

Bryce Laspisa was born to Karen Laspisa on April 30th, 1994, he was her only child. Bryce was a very kind and very loved (Micheal Laspisa is not Bryce’s biological dad, he adopted him when he was a baby). For most of his life Bryce grew up in Michigan. Eventually, his parents retired and made the move out to California, Bryce followed and decided to go to college at Sierra College in Northern California (8 hours North of his parents home). In all of Bryce’s photos he is a seemingly happy and healthy teenager. Bryce was also a proud Taurus and even had a bull head tattoo on his left arm. Sadly, somehow things would go tragically awry for Bryce just soon after starting his sophmore year at school.

Bryce, and his mother & Father.

On August 30th, 2013 Bryce’s 2003 Toyota Highlander was discovered crashed near Castaic Lake, Bryce has not been seen or heard from since this accident and his current wellbeing and whereabouts are unknown. Bryce is currently considered endangered and missing. Despite gathering a lot of attention online, no helpful leads have been uncovered in this case. Leading many to wonder where exactly is Bryce, and what’s happened to him.

Its my hope that i can bring more awareness to Bryce’s case and a better understanding about the timeline of Bryce’s mysterious disappearance.
